1883

A local sea captain opens The Nonantum as a grand summer hotel along the river. From the beginning, the property draws travelers seeking the restorative air of coastal Maine.

1902

Expansion brings additional guest rooms and modern conveniences. The resort becomes a social mainstay in Kennebunkport’s seasonal rhythm.

1963

New ownership ushers in updates while preserving architectural character. The property adapts without losing its identity.

1987
